Summary
In the spring of 2021, a resident of the Kharkiv region contacted us. His house, which has been under construction for a long time, became covered with cracks, which he observed for about 2 years.
The object was a residential building with a slab-type foundation. During a visual inspection by Stati-Cal specialists, numerous cracks were found, both inside and outside on the load-bearing and non-load-bearing walls of the building, at the joints of the walls, from door and window openings. The walls were made of different materials and erected at different times.
Stati-Cal engineers scheduled a foundation survey to rule out the possibility or potential for uneven settlement of the building. The report showed that the soils are strong enough to withstand the load from the building, that is, the bearing capacity of the foundation base is sufficient. The reason for the visible defects in the structures were the structural features of the building, which arose due to the independent construction of the building without the participation of a design team of engineers.
Target
The engineers' decision was to strengthen the wall structures and connect the parts that were disconnected at that time. That is, the joint inclusion in the work of individual parts of the building to avoid the development of further cracks and destruction of structures.
Summary
The work was carried out within 3 working days. The project was fully implemented by a team of 3 people, and in order to record the moment when the object was accepted for warranty, 3-D beacons were placed on the areas chosen together with the owner of the building for further monitoring of construction structures. span>
