Stress-Free Repair: An effective solution for subsided floors and cracks

Stress-Free Repair: An effective solution for subsided floors and cracks

Reinforcement of the foundation soil and the concrete floor slabs

– implementation of works in August 2024.

Private house built in 2020:

– two-story building 12 m x 10 m;

– prefabricated, strip foundation, from FBS blocks;

During the operation of the building (residence), cracks were noticed in the interior (partition) walls on the 1st floor of the building and uneven subsidence of the concrete floor slab, the formation of gaps between the walls and the floor (cracks, delamination).

During the inspection (audit) of the house, a decision was made to carry out work on the examination of the floor slab base by the method of dynamic sensing, geodetic leveling of the flatness of the floor slab, photo recording of voids under the floor slab and measurements of the house, photos of defects (subsidence of the floor) and cracks in the walls. According to the results of the survey, voids between the soil and the slab, insufficiently dense soil at the base of the floor slab at a depth of up to -2.0 meters and, as a result, uneven subsidence of the floor, which became the main reason for the appearance of cracks in the walls, were found. According to the results of the survey, a project was developed to strengthen the base (soil) of the floor slab of the house.

The INJECT technology was applied by the method of injecting heliocomposite solutions (based on cement mixtures)

The performance of the complex of works took 4 calendar days:

– filling voids under the floor slab and restoration of slab-soil contact;

– partial lifting and leveling of the floor slab in the design position before closing the cracks (gaps between the walls and the floor);

– strengthening of the base (soil) of the concrete floor slab to a depth of up to -2.0 meters from the top of the floor slab.

After the completion of the complex of restoration works, a geodetic survey of the floor slab was carried out (horizontal marks of the flatness of the floor slab).

The customer received a guarantee for the performance of the work for 10 years according to the contract, namely the absence of subsidence of the floor slab and the development or formation of new cracks or defects in the walls.
